Reader Ball

Reader Balls or Medium Reader Balls were used in the early turn of the century by mediums, fortune tellers, etc. The ball would be brought in after a sitter has written questions he/she would like the medium to answer. An assistant would load the ball with a strip of paper containing questions and or answers that would coincide with what the sitter had secretly written. The medium would control the strip of paper hidden in the ball as she handled the ball as if she were looking to the spirits for answers.

Reader Balls are now very hard to find, especially this size and in this condition.

Ball measures approx. 8" in diameter. The finish is very good with the exception of two small dents which can be hidden to the rear. I tried to take photos of the dents but they did not show up.
